Sexual harassment of women in Nigerian politics must come to an end. The humiliation Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is facing at the hands of Senate President Godswill Akpabio is not just an attack on her but on every woman who dares to challenge the status quo. This kind of intimidation, exclusion, and harassment has no place in a democracy.
Women across Nigeria must rise up and say ENOUGH. We cannot allow our voices to be silenced, our dignity trampled, or our leadership undermined by a system that refuses to respect us. It is time for every woman—young and old, in politics and beyond—to stand together and demand justice, accountability, and an end to gender-based harassment in leadership.
The time is NOW. Women in Nigeria are not second-class citizens, and we refuse to be treated as such.
