Many of y’all know I was raised by my grandparents blah blah blah but few knew they were actually 69 when they adopted me. No blood relation. Yes, they’re white & I am black but race didn’t matter- just love. People thought they were too old to raise a baby. People thought I’d grow up to be troubled. My grandparents always told me they wanted me to go to college. They wanted me to succeed. Life wasn’t always easy and thank God for friends/family who always looked out for us. This post isn’t for pity. This post is about perseverance. I like to share my story because it’s who I am. It’s proof you can do anything with motivation & loving people by your side. I sat with both my grandparents during their last days of life…. my grandpa in 2013 & my grandma passed just a few weeks ago. I did this for them by the glory of God. Looking forward to passing the NCLEX & I’m excited to start saving lives! #2018 is a year for greatness, I feel it. A year for those who have struggled, suffered or been hurt, to get back up and succeed. Thank you to my amazingly talented, handsome & patient boyfriend @allenmichaelmedia for capturing these perfect photos. – Brittany Lewison
